Communicating nuclear
NICE, the Nuclear Information Committee in Europe, brings together communicators from the nuclear sector in Europe. The Committee shares common views on how to communicate on nuclear issues. Its aim is also to define common strategies and tools to improve transparency and information, and foster public acceptance.
In regular meetings the group
-
Identifies current and future communication issues
-
Creates communications tools when necessary, to address specific European topics or needs of NICE Members
-
Shares information on national issues and provides accurate and factual information on events or nuclear incidents
Site visits and invited experts improve the knowledge of NICE Members on nuclear activities and enable them to better answer requests from media and the general public.
Over the years this joint initiative of the European Nuclear Society (ENS) and the European Atomic Forum (FORATOM) has developed into an important network for its members.
The Committee is open to delegates from National Nuclear Societies, National Nuclear Fora as well as representatives from ENS Corporate Members. It is chaired by John McNamara, Head of Corporate Communications,
NuGeneration Limited, UK.
