At the last years the Young Generation organized two meetings for students and young professionals. The first meeting has been from 9-11 November at Gronau/Urenco. This even tis organized together with the Dutch YG. The meeting has been a great success. We had have 65 participants.

The second meeting took place close to Bergheim and was about the fossil energy sources. At this meeting we had 70 participants.

2. Support of Excursion with nuclear background

Like every year we sponsor universities which plan to organise an excursion which is nuclear based. This year we supported the Dresden University of Technology and the University of applied sciences Zittau/Görlitz with 1000 € each, the University Hannover and the GSO Nuernberg with 300€ each.

3. Monthly Newsletter

The German Young Generation has established a monthly newsletter. The newsletter is distributed via email-list and gives information about German YGN’s ongoing activities and upcoming events. More than 140 members of GYGN have subscribed the newsletter.

4. Book campaign 2006

After being established in 2005, our so-called “Book campaign 30x30” is being repeated in 2006. Students can apply or financial support when purchasing a technical book related to nuclear technology. The first 30 applicants are sponsored with 30 € each.

5. Using the Network

We plan to organise inoffical visits of Members of the German YG-Network at her facilities in small groups. We hope that the can strengthen the Network and the Knowledge Transfer by this.

6. Communication

We held a speech at the VDI Workshop “Nuclear Energy and Ethics”where we introduce our Project “Kernenergie Campus”. We got a lot of interesting Ideas and input to improve our work with Pupils.

The Young Generation realize a growing interest of the public media to discuss the phasing out of nuclear energy.
