of the ENS Young Generation Network

The following text was "born" at the
very first meeting of the ENS Young Generation Network - at Västeras,
Sweden, in May 1995. The meeting was attended by young representatives
from 10 countries and was characterized by youthful enthusiasm and European
diversity. The Terms of Reference for ENS Young Generation Network resulted
after a day of intense brainstorming and formed the basis for large
investment in the young generation in Europe:
Status
A Young Generation Network is to be created within Europe. The network
will be affiliated to the European Nuclear Society and national societies
promoting nuclear technology.
Goals
The goals of the ENS Young Generation Network are:

To promote the establishment of national Young Generation networks.

To promote the exchange of knowledge between older and younger
generations.

To encourage young people in nuclear technology to provide a resource
for the future.

To encourage cross-European exchange of knowledge and experiences.
Organization
The ENS Young Generation Network is composed of representatives
from each National Young Generation Network of which there is one per
country. The Network members will meet at least once per year. The Network
elects its own Chairperson annually. The Chairperson or elected deputy
will have a seat on the ENS Board and Steering Committee.
Finance
The ENS Young Generation Network shall function through the work of
its members and with the support of ENS.
Special projects shall be funded by the interested
parties. International meetings should be funded as follows: transportation
and hotels costs are covered by the visitors and local expenses are
covered by the organization(s) hosting the meeting(s).
