Baryon

Elementary particles with a baryon number = 1, this means: neutrons, protons, hyperons. The name (barys, Greek for "heavy") is derived from the relatively large mass of these particles compared to other elementary particles (Also see 'leptons' , 'mesons' and 'elementary particle').
