Kilogram, effective

A special unit used for the application of safety measures
regarding nuclear material. The quantity in effective kilograms corresponds:
-
for plutonium to its weight in kilograms,
-
for uranium with an enrichment of 1% and more to its weight in
kilograms multiplied by the square of its enrichment,
-
for uranium with an enrichment below 1% and more than 0.5% to
its weight in kilograms multiplied by 0.0001,
-
for depleted uranium (0.5% and below) and for thorium to its weight
in kilograms multiplied by 0.00005.
