You can mark your calendar already! The 9^th RRFM International Topical Meeting will take place in Budapest, Hungary on 10-13 April 2005.

Aptly called ‘the Pearl of the Danube’ - thanks to its splendours and the River Danube, which flows through it - Budapest is enchanting for its visitors. The city’s beautiful natural setting offers the perfect backdrop to its treasures on the banks of the river. On one side, there is the historical Castle District, while on the other, there are majestic boulevards lined with 19^th century apartment buildings and mansions, not to mention many fine museums, cosy coffee houses, thermal baths and restaurants serving delicious Hungarian cuisine.

RRFM 2005’s venue will be the Hilton WestEnd Hotel, located on the Pest side of the city between the River Danube and the City Park, next to the Nyugati Railway Station. Built only a few years ago, it has a stylish contemporary design with soft colours. The hotel is easily accessible by all means of transport.

HOW TO GET TO THE HOTEL FROM THE AIRPORT

FERIHEGY
Distance from hotel: 18 km.
Drive time: 30 min.
Directions: Follow "Ferihegy ut" directions to city center. At city follow "Üllöi ut" until junction "Ferenc körüt" and "Jozsef körut". Turn right and follow "Jozsef körut" to "Nyugati palyaudvar" (railway station). Turn right to the hotel.

The RRFM Conference Secretariat has taken a room allotment for the RRFM delegates at two hotels: the Hilton WestEnd Hotel (the conference venue) and the Ibis Budapest Emke Hotel.

Hilton WestEnd Hotel*****

The hotel is located on the Pest side of the city on one of the major boulevards in Budapest, Váci út, next to the Nyugati pályaudvar railway station and the WestEnd shopping mall. Apart from a pleasant contemporary design, the Hilton WestEnd offers all the facilities of a five star hotel: a restaurant, bar and café, laundry and dry-cleaning services, a fitness centre, an executive floor and a business centre. The hotel has won several "Best Business Hotel" awards since it opened its doors in 2000.

The downtown pedestrian city centre can be reached by metro (three stops) or else by a 20-25 minute walk along the 19th century Bajcsy-Zsilinsky boulevard. The area around Heroes Square (Hösök tere) is a 20-minute walk away.

Ibis Budapest Emke Hotel***

Opened in August 2003, the hotel is located on the Pest side of the city just off Blaha Lujza Square where two major boulevards, Erzsébet körút and Ràkóczi út intersect.

From the hotel, it is a 15-20 minute walk to the Hilton WestEnd Hotel. Otherwise, tramway lines 4 and 6 from Blaha Lujza Square connect the Ibis Emke with the conference venue. The downtown pedestrian city centre along the Danube is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk away or else two metro stops.
