ENS Co-operates with Japanese Society

ENS has just concluded a memorandum of agreement with the Japanese Atomic Energy Society (AESJ) – the long-established organisation promoting research and development (R&D) in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Specifically, the agreement is between ENS and AESJ’s Division for Reprocessing and Recycle Technology (RRTD). Officially signed on 12 February 2004, it specifies that the two organisations will co-operate in the following areas:

• co-ordinating and promoting technical meetings sponsored by each organisation;

• arranging special lectures or presentations in each of the organisations’ host countries;

• sharing ideas and information regarding public education about the nuclear fuel cycle; and

• encouraging capable students to choose careers in the nuclear field.
