members and over 500 individual members who can work in one, or more,
of the following sections:

Publication activity of SNUS consists of issuing of
SNUS own Bulletin and carries out “enlightenment” campaign
at high schools to explain to students the secrets and beauties of nuclear
physics and nuclear technology. Recently SNUS issued book “Atoms
in Slovakia” with first-hand records and memories of the first
generation of nuclear pioneers in Slovakia who (amazing) 50 years ago
laid the foundations of the nuclear power sector in Slovakia (English
version of the book is in preparation and shall be issued later this
year)
On the yearly basis SNUS co-organizes major (in our terms) conference
on nuclear energy that this year will be titled Secure Energy Supply
2007 (SES 2007) and will be held on October 3 to 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
SNUS assessed its last-year work at its annual general
assembly hold on April 26, 2007 in mountain recreational resort Casta-Papiernicka
(see Figure 1) where distinguished members were awarded with diplomas
and, of course, the book “Atoms in Slovakia”. At that occasion
Mr. Jozef Valovic resigned from the post of SNUS secretary general due
to his new duty and Mr. Juraj Klepac was elected as a new SNUS secretary
general.
From the major activities for next months SNUS prepares
a round table discussion with one of the Greenpeace founders Mr. Patrick
Moore and representatives of pro- an anti-nuclear groups in Slovakia;
above-mentioned conference SES 2007; conference of radiologists in beautiful
town of Banska Stiavnica on October 3 to 5, 2007; together with Czech
Nuclear Society conference “VVER experience and perspectives”
that will be held on October 10 to 12 2007 in Prague and annual NUSIM
conference held together with SNUS general assembly in April 2008.
