Mainly pressurized water reactors (PWR) are used in the nuclear power plants world-wide – 61 % according to the number, 67% according to the output - followed by boiling water reactors (BWR) – 19% according to the number, 21% according to the output.
As of February 2012 in 31 countries 435 nuclear power plant units with an installed electric net capacity of about 368 GW are in operation and 63 plants with an installed capacity of 61 GW are in 15 countries under construction.
International conference "Nuclear Energy for New Europe"
