GRE@T-PIONEeR is glad to announce a new course ready to start in September: “Neutron transport at the fuel cell and assembly levels”

  • From 26th September to 31st October 2025 – Online & in Gothenburg (Hybrid format)

The course aims at providing the students with a sound understanding of the physical phenomena described by the neutron transport models, as well as giving the participants the instruments to perform numerical simulations of neutron transport with state-of-the-art models and codes.

The pedagogical format of the course is based on a hybrid flipped classroom. The target audience for the course is:

  • MSc students, PhD students and Post-Doc students having some background knowledge in nuclear engineering.
  • Nuclear engineers.
  • Reactor physicists.
  • Nuclear safety analysts.
  • Research scientists in the above fields.

Registrations close July 13th, 2025.

GRE@T-PIONEeR is a project which developed specialised education and training resources for post-graduate students in reactor physics and safety.

The aim was to create an alliance aimed at teaching advanced and specialised reactor physics and nuclear reactor safety while making use of synergies between the different consortium members.

The project offers materials which allow students to fully comprehend topics related to the physics, modelling and safety of nuclear reactors, with an emphasis on nuclear cores. By following the courses and hands-on training sessions, the students are able to perform nuclear reactor safety simulations and understand all the calculations behind these simulations.
