HOTLAB 2027

Over the years, the Working Group on “Hot Laboratories and Remote Handling“ has been firmly established as the major contact forum for the nuclear R&D facilities.

HOTLAB 2027 is the 63rd edition, hosted by Studsvik in cooperation with the European Nuclear Society and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Programme

The Technical Programme of HOTLAB 2027 will be published in the Spring 2027

Technical Tour

Studsvik Facilities, Nyköping

Studsvik Tech Park – Ph. Studsvik

The technical tour will offer an insight into Studsvik’s hot-cell facilities, located approximately 100 km south of Stockholm. The facilities support the examination and testing of nuclear fuel and reactor materials and components, covering applications across the nuclear fuel cycle, from fuel qualification and plant life extension to dry storage and final repository. The tour will showcase a range of specialised capabilities, including concrete, lead and steel cells for advanced nuclear fuel, material and mechanical testing, autoclaves simulating LWR environments, and chemistry laboratories for fuel and structural materials analysis. Participants will also learn about the remote handling, testing, and analytical methods used in hot-cell operations, as well as the associated approaches to transport and waste management.

The Technical Tour is included in the registration fee.

The maximum size of each group is limited, and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
