Nuclear power plant Brokdorf/Elbe, pressurized water reactor with an electric gross output of 1,440 MW, nuclear commissioning on 7th Oct. 1986.

Generating on average about 11 billion kW/h of electricity a year, Brokdorf has been among the world’s top ten nuclear power plants 21 times so far, and among the top three 12 times, and it has even been the “World champion power plant” on two occasions.

Following Germany’s decision in 2011 to implement an accelerated phase-out of nuclear energy, Brokdorf will cease commercial operation by 31 December 2021.
