Nuclear Power Plant Obrigheim/Neckar (Germany), pressurized water reactor with an electric gross output of 357 MW. Nuclear commissioning took place on 22nd September 1968. Final shutdown after 37 years of operation 0n 11.05.2005. Total electricity production 86 TWh.

After extensive planning, preparation and approval, the gradual dismantling of the plant began in autumn 2008. In summer 2016, the dismantling of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) was completed. The dismantling work has currently arrived at the so-called biological shield. These are the massive concrete structures that surrounded the RPV at its old location. The dismantling of the KWO should be completed within the framework of nuclear law by 2025 at the latest. Subsequently, buildings can be reused or conventionally demolished.
