NUKEM Developing Nuclear Cooperation with Central Asian Partners
NUKEM Technologies Engineering Services GmbH (ENS Corporate Member) has clarified its role as a technical implementation and engineering partner within a series of international cooperation frameworks promoted by its parent company, Muroosystems Corporation, in collaboration with partner institutions in Central Asia.
These initiatives are being advanced in the context of the Japan-Central Asia “5+1” Leaders’ Summit, held for the first time in December 2025 in Tokyo.
NUKEM and Muroosystems Corp. signed several Memoranda of Understanding to strengthen nuclear cooperation in Central Asia through its support for projects in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
In Kazakhstan, the signatories and the national nuclear authorities work together to enhance nuclear safety, radioactive waste management, human resource development, and alignment with IAEA standards, building on a long-term partnership framework. Acting as an international expert, NUKEM provides technical assessments, engineering consulting, and Owner’s Engineer services.
In Uzbekistan, NUKEM contributes regulatory and technical expertise to nuclear projects and supports innovative initiatives, including the exploration of SMR-powered data centres.
By combining nuclear energy with digital infrastructure, the initiative aims to establish a stable and predictable electricity supply for data centers while enabling efficient utilization of nuclear power generation capacity
