Orano has completed the dismantling of the Ulysse experimental nuclear reactor

Orano has announced on 22 June the completion of the dismantling of the experimental nuclear reactor Ulysse, located in Saclay (Essonne).

The works, which lasted five years, were completed on time.

Ulysse experimental nuclear reactor shut down definitively in February 2007. Thirteen years later, Orano completed its dismantling, announcing the end of its operations “on the scheduled time”.

Operated by CEA teams from 1961 to 2007, the low-power reactor Ulysse was mainly operated for teaching and continuing education purposes by INSTN (the French National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology).
